Announcement–CALA Southeast Chapter 2017 Officer Election Result

Dear CALA Southeast Chapter members,

As the chair of the 2017 CALA Southeast Chapter Nomination Committee, I am here to announce that the SE Chapter finished its election process for three officer positions, and the election result is attached to this email.

We sent out election emails to 28 members, the result list I received indicates that there are 11 votes for each position, thus a 39.3% support for each position is showed in the election result.

According to the CALA Bylaws, Article VII, Section 4, “The nominee who receives the largest number of votes for any office shall be elected.” So all the candidates are qualified to their applied positions, and they shall start their service term once the election result been announced.

I therefore announce that Peng Mu is the 2017-2018 Vice President/President-Elect, Tongyang Zhang is the 2017-2018 Membership Officer, and Zhao Liu is the 2017-2020 Webmaster. Congratulations to all the three candidates!

We thank everyone who participated into the election process, and we thank the candidates’ willing and desire to serve the CALA Southeast Chapter. And I would like to thank my committee, which gives me the opportunity to serve as a chair and enables me to elect the new officers for the Chapter. I also like to thank all the committee members for your hard work!

Best wishes,

Xiaojie Duan

Xiaojie Duan, M.L.I.S.
