SE Members at 2007 ALA Annual
At the 2007 ALA annual conference, Li Zhang from Mississippi State University Libraries met Haipeng Li, the immediate past president of CALA. Zhang reported the progress of the newly established CALA Southeast Chapter, including its new Web site, recruitment efforts, and potential programs.
At the conference, Zhang displayed two poster sessions that received very positive responses. She also had a chance to get to know a librarian from Florida State University Libraries. Although currently a non-CALA member, the Florida librarian expressed her interest in CALA programs that would help her network with other colleagues and enhance her job performance.
Three members from our chapter had a wonderful gathering on Sunday, June 24. Involved in different aspects of academic librarianship, the members introduced themselves and discussed what were happening in their libraries. The discussion allowed each librarian to better understand current trends and issues. Most importantly, they brought back with support and closer friendship.
